NEW MODULAR APARTMENT COMPLEX IN STRATHMORE CREATES QUALITY, ATTAINABLE HOUSING OPTIONS FOR AN UNDERSERVED MARKET

FROM DELIVERY TO COMPLETION IN ONLY 4 WEEKS

Hestia Group, a design-build company specializing in the delivery of multi-generational campuses, responds to the demand for quality, cost-effective housing options in Strathmore with the new construction in Sagecourt. The 12-unit modular apartment complex is scheduled to open mid-December, taking an impressive 4 weeks to build from delivery to completion.

Hestia Properties currently offers 42 affordable homes at Sagecourt for low-to-moderate income families and individuals who pre-qualify based on their annual income — often excluding those who fall slightly above the income bracket. Sagecourt’s new modular apartments are below the average Strathmore rental rates for one and two-bedroom homes, making them a high-quality yet attainable option for these same individuals.

Hestia Group believes that quality architecture and thoughtfully designed homes should be available to everyone, and should support the needs of the community. The term modular home refers to the style of construction, not the quality. Modular homes are built to the same specifications as wood frame homes but often surpass the quality of on-site builds because they are made in a controlled environment. In fact, modular builds result in less waste and site disturbance than a standard on-site build, and on average are more energy efficient — reducing heating and cooling costs.

The unique structural durability of modular builds, paired with process efficiency makes them an ideal fit for multi-family communities like Sagecourt in Strathmore.

MGH Ground Breaking Ceremony

Posted by Barb Noad on November 4th, 2017 | No Comments

We are proud to announce the official ground breaking of our newest project, Multi-Generational Housing & Community Centre (MGH) on November 3, 2017. Alberta Premier Rachel Notley, City of Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi and other special guests from the Ismaili community were in attendance for the ground breaking event.

MGH will provide 120 assisted living beds in North Calgary and surrounding area. Conveniently located near Deerfoot and Stoney Trail, MGH will offer residents a safe and secure home-like atmosphere.

Construction on the project is progressing well with the completion of the second floor. We have also started work in the basement, building the mechanical and electrical rooms to support the building systems. We are forecasting to have the third floor slab construction complete before the holidays.

Province supports seniors, families with new long-term care and dementia beds

Posted by Barb Noad on September 9th, 2016 | No Comments

Construction is starting on a new facility that will serve Calgary families with triple the number of long-term care and dementia beds than originally planned.

“Last year, we did a thorough review of all proposed Affordable Supportive Living Initiative (ASLI) projects, and worked with partners like AgeCare to make changes where they were needed to meet the needs of Albertans. Today, we are seeing those results with more than 256 of this facility’s units being built at a higher level of care than under the former government’s plan, for the same investment.”
– Brandy Payne, Associate Minister of Health

The original ASLI agreement for the AgeCare SkyPointe community was for 64 long-term care beds, 32 supportive living 4 dementia beds and 256 Supportive Living 4 beds, a lower level of care. After the government review, the agreement was amended to 128 long-term care beds and 224 Supportive Living 4 Dementia beds. AgeCare is upgrading these spaces for the same grant amount of $10.56 million.

The AgeCare SkyPointe community will serve seniors and other Albertans with daily needs and access to round-the-clock nursing care.

“We are excited to partner with the Alberta government and Alberta Health Services to bring these much needed care beds to Calgary. AgeCare has been designing and building innovative seniors communities for over a decade. Our goal is to provide the best quality of life experience for each individual who chooses to make AgeCare SkyPointe his or her home.”
– Dr. Hasmukh Patel, CEO of AgeCare

The Government of Alberta has earmarked $365 million as part of its commitment to build 2,000 long-term care and dementia spaces in the next four years.
